NOTES FROM HERE AND THERE

November's Enrichment was great. We had our trusty Girl Scouts with us again and we got all the food and things ready for the chimps slumber party, even stuffed pillows with hay. The keepers put everything out the following Sunday. Barbara Duncan and Denise Geller were the only ones who were able to go but Barbara took loads of pictures and I will get them up on the web site as soon as we figure out how, but it sounds like the chimps had a ball.

Our Holiday Gathering was a huge success. Phyllis Malcom's house was beautifully decorated, the weather was wonderful and I think everyone had a good time. We had lots of wonderful food, lots of laughs, and a wonderful slide show of pictures Terry Wolf has taken over the years since the park opened and he started to work there. It was great to see how Lion Country has grown through the years. We are sorry that a lot of you couldn't come to the festivities and that several got sick and couldn't make it at the last minute.  We will hope more observers will be able to join us next year.

Bev Scott has received the new software and has been working with it out in the preserve. She is waiting to receive more instructions before she plans when to give the course, but it will surely be in January. Terry Wolf has received the new manual and has sent it out to the printer to have copies made. Since this is new to all of us, I hope you realize that everyone will have to come to the class so watch for announcements on the website.

The new website is ready to use and Bev will be taking the old one off at the end of the month. You have to register to be able to use the message board. So please follow the instructions that Myra sent to everyone how to register, and get on so you can put up your narrative observations and find out what is going on within the group. We have this wonderful new website and it needs to be looked at to get information you need to know. We will put everything that's happening on the website as soon as possible and it will be each persons responsibility to keep checking to see what's new. You are all welcome to make suggestions or tell us something we would appreciate knowing on the message board. Don't be afraid of it, it won't bite and Myra is willing to give you all the help you need if you get stuck and don't know the next step.

  SANTA IS COMING

This Sunday we will be filling and wrapping the gifts for the chimps. It is a big job so I hope you will volunteer two hours of your time to come help.

Bring all the things you have been gathering to fill the boxes like clothes, soft toys, sheets, blankets, purses, hats and anything old you think the chimps might like that would be safe for them to have.
