July 2007 Newsletter

......Beginning with the September 19, 2007 meeting there will be a $10.00 per YEAR membership fee. The reason for the dues is that the treasury only has $512.45 and this is not enough to cover the items that have been purchased so far (shirts, hats, chairs etc.). Vendors have to be paid with "up front" money which we do not have. Therefore, the treasury has to be built up prior to us ordering anymore items. ......Additionally, some members have out of pocket expenses that need to be reimbursed. ......Thank you for your understanding in this matter. ......The next Chimpanzoo meeting will be held on Sept. 19th Wednesday at 7:00pm at Eloise's home. (See directions on the "Event Calendar") |
......Now for some good news!! Bev received an email from Erica Metelovski, Assistant Director of Chimpanzoo, stating that the Jane Goodall Institute approved funding to develop new data collection software so the database can get back on line. ......They will be showcasing a prototype of the new software on October 9th at the Chimpanzoo Conference in Wichita. ......More details will be made available as soon as they are received as to how we can input and extract research information. ......Erica has also asked us to contribute footage for their Chimpanzoo reliability tapes - which we will do when it gets cooler. |
Hope to see everyone at the September 19th meeting. |
