Holiday Newsletter

......I am so sorry for the delay in this update but since the hurricane and with the holidays - it's been quite hectic here. ......Christmas With the Chimps went off wonderfully!!! People packed in early and I did see a lot of observers there (thank you for your continued support). Obviously the BEST part was Santa. He was so good with the kids, as well as with the chimps. They usually get very excited when the keepers come around, but to see them with Santa was amazing. I have never heard them all so vocal! With the hand gestures and the rocking, you could tell they knew they had some fun stuff coming. We had packed stuffed animals, hats, shirts, shorts, pants, Twizzlers, Swedish Fish, potato chips, popcorn, peanuts, cranberries, apple sauce, juice, Smarties, and more. ......I would like to thank everyone who showed up to December enrichment for their extraordinary help preparing gifts for the chimps!! Eloise, Phyliss, Lauren and I got there early to set up. Once everyone arrived, it was pack, wrap, pack, wrap... until we were all done!!! |
......Needless to say, they had a blast opening their gifts. Babies Noel (Juniper's X-mas gift to all of us!!!) and Olive just kinda hung and watched. My buddy Bamboo grabbed 2 gifts because he needed them!!!! LOL!!! The chimps loved all their goodies and clothes items. ......I look forward to many good times this year with Chimpanzoo and the new program I am starting, Enrichment for All Species. We all have so much to learn and with these programs and dependable team players, we can really make a difference for the animals. ......Thank you everyone, especially Terry! You are a true inspiration to many. Your care, concern and, most of all, dedication to the animals is greatly admired and appreciated. I hope everyone had a safe and loving holiday season. |
......See you all soon at the next bi-monthly on Feb 8th at Eloise's house from 7-9 p.m.
