......On July 29, a group of observers were afforded the opportunity to take a tour of the preserve with Terry Wolf, the Wildlife Director at Lion Country Safari. Terry is a brilliant man with a wealth of information about every aspect of each animal in the preserve so our observers not only learned about our chimps but the lions, elephants (including their pedicures, LOL), Impalas, water buffalo, ostrich, wildebeast,etc... thank you Terry for taking the time with our group, and I look forward to catching up with you about your trip to Africa!!! Since there were quite a few people who couldn't make the first outing, Eloise and I have discussed trying to plan another one. We will have a better idea by the first meeting as we need to speak to Terry first...

......Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, Bamboo jumped off the structure and broke his leg. So his group has been in the house since then. From what I hear, Terry said it will be a few more weeks before he is able to reunited with his mom, Tonic, in the same cage. So I am sure this must be very hard on the little guy. Also, Figment and his mom Inky have been removed from Ian's island due to extreme harrassment. Hopefully, they will be introduced to a new group soon and we will have more chimps to observe than in the last few weeks.

......As of August 1, I offered to help Eloise and Adam with the website so if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to let one of us know. We are always open to all suggestions and anything that will make our time with the Chimpanzoo program a fun and exciting experience. One thing I would appreciate is if everyone could update their information on the member page so we have a current e-mail address and contact information. If we could get this done by the end of August, that would be great..... Thanks alot for your help in this.
