THE CHIMPS…… and us

......It is very important that all observers come to this month's enrichment workshop. We have many, many boxes to fill and to wrap for Santa to throw to the chimps. Last year we had all those Girl Scouts to help us, but this year we are on our own. So please come out on December 14 to help.

......Speaking of Santa. There has been a change of time and plans for December 19th. We must be in the parking lot by 9 a.m. The bus will take us all out together and this is for observers only. No family or friends this year. Terry expects to have Santa start delivering at 9:30 and hopes he will be finished by the time the first cars come through the preserve. So if you don’t want to miss this wonderful event, be at Lion Country at 9 A.M.

......I thought I would see some messages pop up on the message board about what you had observed that was interesting or funny or both. Maybe next month.

......The chimps have been a lot more active since the weather got cooler, but haven’t we all? It sure is fun to watch Bamboo grow and try new things. I do hope that more of you will get out to the preserve and do some observing soon.

......Whitey’s group was in the “house” for a few days because Whitey had a bad tooth that needed to be looked at.

…..and STUFF

......Bring any enrichment items with you to the workshop so that we have lots of stuff to put in the boxes. If you have fruit trees with too much fruit for you to use, the chimps would love to help you get rid of it. It helps if you bring a pair of scissors with you to the workshop, and mark them in some way that you will know which are yours if they get mixed up

......We are negotiating with Lion Country Safari to make our Web page a link from their Web page, hoping that it will be easier for you all to get it. I will let you know as soon as we get approval.

......Our next general meeting of our group will be Wednesday, January 7 at Eloise’s house. I hope that more of you will try to attend so that we can trade a lot of information and hear how you are doing with the narrative observations. The last meeting was great but we need more of you to participate. I will send out an email closer to the time giving details and directions to my house. We decided to have a meeting every other month to keep everyone aware of what is going on and to share and resolve problems.
